Introduction to the Association

Consulting Association for International Development

Chairperson's Greeting

Consulting Association for International Development

We are pleased to announce the birth of The Consulting Association for International Development(CAIND) in May 2023. It has been more than 30 years since the development assistance began in Korea.

International development, as represented by the MDGs and the SDGs, is the primary goal of the global community. Just like we should share how to catch fish rather than giving out fish, development consulting is the means of achieving the immutable goal of the global community, and at the same time for Korea it is the blue ocean that we must pioneer.

As one of the poorest countries in the international community, Korea overcame poverty and achieved development while receiving foreign aid and became a donor country to assist the developing partners for their social and economic development. In this regard, Korea can be the best model to provide development experiences and know hows.

Our organization, the CIAND, has been launched when we have almost 30 years of ODA history and the experiences of development consulting have been gradually accumulated to a certain extent. Through refining our past development experiences and upgrading ODA expertise which we have accumulated over the years, we are ready to play a full-fledged role in international development consulting market.

To this end, the association will do the following roles.

  • 첫째, 우리 개발원조의 선진화를 위하여 정부, 원조당국과 협력하여 원조사업 환경을 개선하고 참여자에 대한 교육 훈련에 힘쓸 것입니다.
  • Second, we will actively support our companies and experts to develop and share the overseas consulting marketing experiences.
  • Third, to strengthen the sustainable impact of ODA and the close partnership, we will play an intermediate role among development consultants, international enterprises, social fund, academia and public institutions, etc..

This will enable us to realize three visions. The first is to ensure that our development assistance is effective and serves as an example to the international community. The second is that our enterprises and experts play an important role in the international development consulting market, befitting the international status of the Korean economy and ODA. The third is that, we will be able to contribute to establishing ourselves as a pivotal role to entrepreneurs and professionals in various fields who have participated in or intend to engage in international development consulting business, and various public institutions and academia,

Now, let us all work together to pioneer the blue ocean of international aid market and create an impact on development projects. In this respect, I have the strong belief that the CAIND will provide the excellent venue for all of us together.

Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to express my deepest gratitude to all of the people who has dedicated themselves in founding the CAIND as of today.
